I’ll kick things off with the first feature request.
Locking the app’s orientation on phones is the correct decision. The interface becomes difficult to see and manage on a phone in landscape mode, especially when the keyboard is visible.
Tablets, on the other hand, look and function very nicely in either orientation. The problem is that a lot of dimensional recalculations have to take place whenever the screen rotates, otherwise, you end up with a poorly drawn interface.
I made the decision to lock tablets to portrait orientation rather than stall the initial release of reeDminder. At various points in beta testing, I have re-enabled landscape mode so that I could judge the amount of effort required, and I have also played around with using reeDminder in split screen mode – which is fantastic!
I’ll be excited to announce User Experience enhancements for reeDminder in version 1.1 or 1.2. For today, I’m finishing the push to get this amazing app into somebody’s hands other than my own!
